Biography
Dr Putla Sudarsanam is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Hyderabad, India. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (2014) from CSIR-IICT, India. From 2014 to 2019, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at RMIT University (Melbourne), Leibniz Institute of Catalysis (Germany), and KU Leuven (Belgium). His group primarily works in the area of Heterogeneous Catalysis, focusing on the development of advanced catalysts and sustainable catalytic processes for plastic waste recycling, biomass valorization, and the production of diverse nitrogenous organic chemicals.
He has received several awards/fellowships, including the RSC Nanoscale Emerging Investigator Award 2025, the PECFAR Award 2024 (Indo-German Science & Technology Centre), the Young Scientist Award 2024 (Catalysis Society of India), the Australian Alumni Award 2021, and the Marie Curie Fellowship 2017. He has authored over 94 publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, five book chapters, and edited four books.
