Jack Eichler

Biography
Jack Eichler is a professor of teaching and member of the Academy of Distinguished Teaching at the University of California, Riverside. He earned his PhD in inorganic chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and completed a teaching-focused post-doctoral position at Wichita State University prior to his career in academia.
His current research focuses on investigating how to optimise online learning environments for chemistry-related learning objectives, how hybrid (flipped) classroom structures can be leveraged to facilitate deeper conceptual understanding of core chemistry concepts, and using mastery outcomes assessment structures to improve the retention and success of historically at-risk students in large gateway STEM courses.
