Biography
Diego A Gómez-Gualdron is an Associate Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. He earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander in 2006, a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from Texas A&M University, and from 2013 to 2016 he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University.
His research interests focus on the use of quantum mechanics calculation, molecular simulations and machine learning for atomistically detailed design of materials. He is a recipient of the Silver Graduate Student Award from the Materials Research Society, Outstanding Researcher Award from the International Institute of Nanotechnology at Northwestern University, and the U.S. National Science Foundation’s CAREER award.
