Biography
Carolina is the Development Editor for Energy & Environmental Science (EES), EES Batteries, EES Catalysis, EES Solar, Sustainable Energy & Fuels, and Energy Advances. She joined the RSC in 2022 as the Development Editor for Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP), Green Chemistry and Faraday Discussions.
She completed her MSc in Chemistry at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and her PhD at the University of Glasgow, UK. Her research during her MSc and PhD focused on the development of new synthetic methodologies for amides and thioamides with high atom-economy, the study of the Pummerer reaction towards the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds and the formal synthesis of Taxol using ring-closing metathesis strategies. Following her PhD, she joined the Université d'Orléans in France as a postdoctoral researcher, working on nucleoside analogues for antiviral applications.
She is passionate about synthetic organic chemistry, green chemistry, sustainable technologies, scientific publishing, and supporting researchers in advancing the chemical sciences.
