2025 RSC Prize winners announced
Celebrating excellence across the chemical sciences, we are proud to recognise people from a wide range of career stages, sectors and backgrounds
Today we announce the 2025 winners of our Research & Innovation Prizes, Volunteer Recognition Prizes, Horizon Prizes, Inclusion & Diversity Prize and more.
This year’s prizes continue to celebrate excellence in its many forms across the chemical sciences. We are proud to recognise individuals and teams from a wide range of career stages, sectors and backgrounds – highlighting the breadth of talent and the variety of ways people contribute to progress in our field.
Now in their second year, our Technical Excellence Prizes once again honour the vital role that technicians and technical staff play in the chemical sciences community. Our Apprentice Prizes continue to recognise more emerging talent, and we celebrate collaborative achievement through our team and partnership awards – including the Innovation Through Partnership Prize, which recognises successful collaborations across government, industry, education, research and the third sector.
Great science depends on collaboration, and this year’s prize winners reflect that. Our team awards span diverse partnerships and institutions, showcasing outstanding science and innovation delivered by groups large and small, in a wide range of roles and disciplines.
Dr Helen Pain, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, said:
"Chemical scientists work across disciplines, borders and sectors to help solve the biggest challenges facing our world – from climate change to healthcare and sustainable development.
"Our 2025 prize winners reflect the full scope of our community: researchers, educators, technicians, volunteers and more. They come from different backgrounds and bring different perspectives – but they share a commitment to excellence, progress and making a difference.
"On behalf of the RSC, I offer my heartfelt congratulations to them all."
