Subject areas

Location
Geneva, Switzerland
Held in Geneva, a global hub for chemicals and waste governance, the programme brings together experts from UN agencies, Multilateral Environmental Agreement secretariats, international organizations, scientific institutions, and other stakeholders to explore the policies, tools, and practical approaches underpinning the sound management of chemicals and waste. Through expert lectures, MEA briefings, technical workshops, institutional visits, simulations, and networking opportunities, participants develop a deeper understanding of the global chemicals and waste governance architecture and its implementation in practice.
The programme is particularly relevant in the lead-up to the first International Conference on the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC-1), providing participants with an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of the Global Framework on Chemicals, its multi-stakeholder approach, and the broader international architecture for sound chemicals and waste management. The programme aims to equip participants with the knowledge, practical tools, and professional connections needed to engage more effectively in international discussions and contribute to the implementation of global chemicals and waste priorities in their respective countries and organizations.
