We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a tour, for individuals who are aged 18 or over, around Severn Trent Water's Minworth Wastewater Treatment Works, north east of Birmingham on Thursday 30th April 2026.

Minworth, serving a population equivalent of ~1.75 million in and around Birmingham, is the largest sewage treatment works within Severn Trent Water. The site treats both wastewater and sludge. Wastewater treatment consists of primary settlement followed by activated sludge. Minworth processes its own sludge, along with imported sludges from industrial and regional works, through stages of thickening/dewatering, thermal hydrolysis, and anaerobic digestion. Driven by Severn Trent's ambitious greenhouse gas reduction targets—including cutting N₂O and CH₄ emissions to help achieve a Net Zero Operational Carbon Emissions by 2030 - you will see Minworth's cutting‑edge emissions monitoring technologies. You will also hear about the site's process optimisation trials, generating valuable treatment efficiency insights for both the company and the wider UK water sector.
