Members' Autumn Bird Walk
Join us for a guided walk around Derwent Walk Country Park, the Land of Oak & Iron, hosted by local ornithologist Michael Turner.
On our 2.5 h walk Michael will have us watching and listening out for winter migrants including Redwing and Fieldfare among the regulars of Red Kite, Buzzard, Jay, Dipper and Kingfisher.
The route is mostly paved, though there are a few grassy areas to cross, so please wear suitable shoes. The walk will take place despite the weather, so come dressed for the day!
As places are strictly limited to 20 people, there is a charge of £10 per person to secure a spot by clicking the link on this page. The £10 will be refunded to you when you turn up, so there is no charge to attend - this is provided by your Local Section.
If you have binoculars, make sure to bring them along.
Meet at 10:00 am at the car park besides Land of Oak & Iron Visitor Centre (which is open from 9:00 should you want a hot drink beforehand).
