The Formulation Science and Technology (FST) Interest Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry is pleased to announce Innovations in the Formulation of Amorphous Solid Dispersions 2026. Building on the success of the inaugural meeting in 2024, this second edition will be held on Friday, 23 October 2026, at the Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, London, United Kingdom.

This scientific event will bring together leading researchers from academia and industry to share the latest innovations in amorphous solid dispersions through invited lectures and poster sessions. We are particularly keen to achieve a strong balance among academics, industrial scientists, and students, creating an excellent environment for scientific discussion, collaboration, and networking.

The seven selected speakers and their topics are listed below:

Ms Carolina Alva Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering, Graz, Austria Topic: Tailoring the release of highly loaded amorphous solid dispersions via additive manufacturing

Dr Ecaterina Bordos CMAC, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom Topic: Probing amorphous solid dispersions with synchrotron X-ray phase-contrast tomography

Dr Tetiana Kolisnyk TU Dortmund University, Germany Topic: High-drug-loaded amorphous solid dispersions of a poor glass-forming drug

Dr Peter O’Connell Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Belgium Topic: Accelerated predictive stability strategies applied to the screening of pharmaceutical formulations and amorphous solid dispersions

Dr Justin Yiwei Tian Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom Topic: High-drug-loading nanosized amorphous solid dispersions with enhanced in vitro solubility and permeability

Dr Vivek Trivedi University of Kent, United Kingdom Topic: Felodipine–PEG solid dispersions prepared by solvent-free scCO₂ processing for orally disintegrating tablets

Dr George Papakostas AstraZeneca, United Kingdom Topic: High-throughput amorphous solid dispersion screening using picoliter 2D-Inkjet printed microarrays
