The ChIR/ChIRS Symposium 2026 will bring together students, alumni, researchers, professionals and regulatory/scientific stakeholders to discuss Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD), chemical innovation, chemical regulation and sustainability.
Under the theme “SSbD: Innovation Beyond REACH”, the symposium will explore how safety, sustainability and regulatory thinking can be integrated earlier into the design and development of chemicals, materials, products and processes. The event is relevant to those working or studying in chemical sciences, regulatory affairs, environmental sciences, toxicology, risk assessment, sustainability, product stewardship and responsible innovation.
The symposium is organised in the context of ChIR — the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Chemical Innovation and Regulation — and aims to promote dialogue between academia, industry, regulators and the wider chemical safety community.
