We are a Disability Confident Employer
We have signed up to various commitments to support individuals with disabilities or long-term health conditions
We are a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2).
Our Disability Confident Employer status reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace for disabled people and those with long term health conditions. We continue to maintain this through annual self-assessment and ongoing action, using the Disability Confident framework to review and strengthen our practices.
The Disability Confident scheme is a voluntary government initiative, developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives. It supports employers to recruit, retain and develop disabled people and people with health conditions.
What does our Level 2 status mean?
As a Disability Confident Employer, we demonstrate action beyond the initial commitment level to remove barriers and improve experiences for disabled people across our organisation. This includes:
Inclusive recruitment and interviews
We anticipate and provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and, where possible, aim to offer an interview to disabled candidates and those with long term health conditions who meet the essential criteria for a role.
Accessible and inclusive processes
We work to ensure our recruitment and workplace processes are accessible and inclusive, offering adjustments at all stages.
Support for existing staff
We are committed to supporting colleagues who have, or who develop, a disability or long term health condition, helping them to flourish in their roles and progress with their careers.
Ongoing reflection and improvement
We use annual self assessment and ongoing action within the Disability Confident framework to support continuous learning and improvement in how we attract, support and retain disabled people.
Evidence of our status
We are a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2). Our status is supported by our Disability Confident Employer certificate and Level 2 badge, which demonstrate our participation in the scheme and our commitment to inclusive employment.
